Not my quote, but Joe Cohen thinks so.

What do you think about a mixed-use project like this? Low-income apartment units along with market rate ones with community – public amenities. All above a Costco?
Any time there’s low income housing, there’s always trash and garbage all over the place. Seems that by giving people an advantage over everyone else, they won’t take care or pride in their neighborhood.
This is what happens when people who are getting something for nothing. You destroy people’s abilities to take pride in their neighborhood and where they live. Your help is destroying their ability to to take care of themselves.
Bringing in millions of people from the 3rd world, is not going to make them good citizens. All you have done is create slavery for these people who come here without an education or needed skills. They are then taking the jobs away from American citizens who may not have the skills for the higher paying jobs. All to provide cheap labor for Wall Street and Main Street.

I recognize your concerns however the project is not primarily affordable and or below market housing. Honestly, most people pretending to be landlords allow for more problems than any new communities. Regarding your xenophobic 3rd world statement, the bay area is an international metro and so diverse.
